Volume Rover is a volumetric visualization package. It enables interactive exploration of large volume data on a desktop computer.

For more pictures, animations, and interactive viz. of macromolecular structures using Volume Rover, please visit CVC Gallery.

Features

  • Open source software for rendering large volumetric data.
  • Written in C++ using Qt. The same code compiles on Windows, MacOS X, and Linux/Unix.
  • Can use a DataCutter server as a data source.
  • Combined volume rendering and isosurfacing.
  • Can be used as a client to parallel render servers.
  • Supports multi-variable, time varying datasets.
  • Provides programmers with an easy to use volume rendering library.
  • Saves isosurfaces for viewing in other programs.

Tutorial We have a tutorial to familiarize you with Volume Rover. PDF version is available here.
